  • First Lowie Bricks projects succesfully completed

    In 2019, our sister company Lowie (LOW Impact) Bricks launched a pioneering research and development programme aimed at finding sustainable and affordable alternatives to traditional facing bricks. Today, the first Lowie Bricks projects are under construction and two have already been fully completed.

    Developed using patented techniques, the innovative Lowie Bricks offer an impressive 80% CO2 reduction compared to traditional ceramic bricks. This is possible thanks to a revolutionary production process that does not require an energy-intensive firing process. The bricks harden through an initial hydraulic bonding process, followed by long-term natural carbonation, which contributes to the durability of the facing bricks.

    Beernem and Meulebeke

    The first finished projects were realised by contractor Arne Dewaelsche and are located in Beernem and in Meulebeke. In Beernem, the project was completed with the Lowie Classic White and in Meulebeke with the Lowie Design White.
    Both projects illustrate the versatility and aesthetic qualities of Lowie Bricks.

    Three Keywords: Sustainable, Affordable and Authentic

    The core values of Lowie Bricks can be summarised in three words:

    Sustainable: The innovative production process achieves an 80% CO2 reduction compared to clay bricks, without compromising on quality or appearance.

    Affordable: Ecological progress must be affordable. That is why Lowie Bricks are offered at prices below those of the aesthetic brick equivalent.

    Authentic: Despite the modern production process, Lowie Bricks retain the authentic look and feel of traditional facing bricks, which is essential for their wide applicability in different building styles.

    With this successful launch and the start of the first projects, Lowie Bricks take an important step towards a more sustainable and affordable future in the construction industry.
