In 2019, our sister company Lowie (LOW Impact) Bricks launched a research and development program to find sustainable and affordable alternatives to classic facing bricks.

Through extensive experimentation with new, patented techniques, Lowie Bricks has succeeded in developing a brick with an 80% CO² reduction compared to ceramic bricks, while also retaining the aesthetic and qualitative characteristics of ceramic facing bricks.

The revolutionary production process of Lowie Bricks does not require an energy-intensive firing process. Lowie bricks harden based on an initial hydraulic binding process + prolonged natural carbonation. This results in an 80% CO2 reduction compared to clay bricks.

It is our conviction that ecological progress is only possible if it is also affordable. Therefore, the prices of Lowie Bricks are below those of their aesthetic brick equivalent.
