A Facing Brick Revolution: Lowie Bricks in Beernem

In picturesque Beernem, contractor Arne Dewaelsche has commenced the very first project using our brand-new Lowie Brick.

These hybrid facade bricks are best described by three key characteristics: sustainable, affordable, and authentic. Their hybrid nature, positioning the brick between ceramic and concrete, provides a solid foundation that meets all technical requirements.

A Green Revolution

What makes the Lowie facade bricks remarkable is their revolutionary production process. Unlike traditional facade bricks, no energy-intensive firing process is required. Lowie bricks cure based on an initial hydraulic binding process, followed by prolonged natural carbonation. This achieves an impressive CO2 reduction of no less than 80% compared to clay bricks. Furthermore, these low-impact facade bricks are also affordable, making sustainable building more accessible to many more people. True ecological progress is only possible when it is also affordable.

Aesthetically Pleasing and Practical to Use

Contractor Arne Dewaelsche is very satisfied with the new Lowie Bricks: “Things are progressing very well. The facade bricks are very dimensionally stable, and the masonry work is proceeding smoothly.” He indicated that he definitely saw a future for these bricks: “We have since discussed another construction site where we will use these facade bricks; they also have a very beautiful color.” Lowie Bricks are not only aesthetically appealing but also practical to use.

Preserving Authenticity

A key concern when developing new building materials is preserving the authentic look and feel of traditional facade bricks. Lowie Bricks has successfully achieved this goal. The facade bricks retain the aesthetic of traditional bricks, making them perfectly suited for both modern and classic architecture.

The project in Beernem is just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting revolution in the world of facade bricks. With the innovation of Lowie Bricks, contractors can not only work more efficiently but also contribute to a greener future without compromising on aesthetics or price.
